I had a nice big long post written, was just about to hit 'save' and then all of a sudden the power went out. Great.
I believe that this will be my last post until August. I leave Saturday for the Youth Theological Initiative's Summer Academy at Emory. I'm incredibly excited. Beyond excited, in fact.
I've already packed everything from booklets of stamps to obscene amounts of quarters, a desk lamb to a bath robe, stationary to shorts, articles by Brueggeman (they sent that to us earlier and told us to bring it) to my Book of Common prayer. You name it, I've packed it or have planned on packing it. Except for an iron. I won't bring an iron with me. . .
That reminds me; I've still got to track down my NRSV Student Bible ( I've already packed a regular NRSV, a pocket TNIV, and an NIV) .
I will have internet access, but I don't plan on posting. Though you might want to check every so often. Who knows? I might get the itch to blog.
Send me a letter, jot me a note, print me out a scripture verse and stick it in an envelope. Basically, do anything that involves stamps and a post office and address it to me. I love mail. Here's the address:

Please. Send me something. Anything.

Wait -- saying we don't visit the casinos was inaccurate. The best movie theaters and restaurants are found within the casinos -- but we aren't all hopeless gamblers and drunks -- though even if we were, would we not deserve a church?
